I’ve written about where to get startup jobs before. I’ve made my algorithm pretty clear in those posts. Go to each site. Look for jobs you like. Apply.

And don’t get upset if they don’t respond. That just happens.

My ratio is roughly 25 resume submissions to one callback. Then, about three callbacks to land one job. Your numbers might be a little higher or lower. But don’t get discouraged.

VC Fund Job Boards

This time, I did something a little different. Using both Claude and Gemini¹, I built a table of all venture capital funds created in 2025. The data runs from January through September, covering Q1 to Q3. The source is a curated list of newly raised VC funds from CapVisory.de. You can find it here. Big thanks to them for compiling it. Then, I had Claude pull any job site it found related to the VCs. And here it is:

How to Use This List

The strategy is the same as always. Here’s the short version:

• Open the spreadsheet.
• Find funds that match your interests or background.
• Click the jobs link in the last column.
• Browse their open roles and apply.
• Search for job titles that are interesting to you, e.g. “Intern”.

Some funds link to a full portfolio job board. That means hundreds of open roles across all their portfolio companies. Others link directly to the firm’s own careers page. Those are smaller lists. But those roles are often closer to the investment side of the house.

Either way — they’re worth checking out. I had a list of VCs back in 2024 who were hiring. Check out those sites as well.

Welcome to another edition of my “Who’s Hiring” series. I have written about this in the last in September 2023 and May.

As I have said before, looking for a job is a numbers game. It’s usually around 25 resume submissions to get 1 call back, and 3 callbacks to get a job. Your numbers may vary depending on the economic cycle, your industry and your age. (Ageism is real in Silicon Valley).¹

When it comes to looking for a job, my algorithm is this:

1. Use your contacts for jobs they know about. This is your best source.
2. Look for companies who have just received funding from VCs. The first thing A and B round startups do once they have funding is hire people.
3. Search the Web. This is the lowest yield approach. I have been trying to get a job at Adobe for 20 years with no luck.

Follow the Money

Here’s how it works. VCs go out and solicit commitments for money for funds from their investors. The VCs then invest in companies, who then hire people. Simple right?

So, as of December 2024, here is are some additional funds that I could find who have raised money and have job sites. My full list is here.
